On January 22nd, 2017: Fifteen people enjoyed a walk in A. E. Wilson Park in Regina, on Boreal and Prairie Islands.
While the field trip was followed up by a showing of “Extreme Weather” at the Imax, weather was anything but extreme that day! It was warmer weather than we’d had in a while, and while overcast, we enjoyed the landscapes of and from the islands, and watched nine species of birds…
White-winged Crossbills (male and female), a Red Crossbill, 2 Downy Woodpeckers, Black-capped Chickadees, Black-billed Magpies, Red-breasted Nuthatches, a flock of Pine Siskins, House Sparrows and a Common Raven.
Photos (click on each for a larger view) were submitted by Hiro Aoki and Mary Worel (birds), with a landscape and group photo by Mary.
